Lomond Writers' Gathering

2Impress and the Lomond Gathering Association are very pleased to announce that the first ever

Lomond Writers' Gathering took place at The Kilted Skirlie, Lomond Shores, Balloch26-29th March 2012 .

The Gathering ran workshops by well established writers such as Pat McIntosh and Guru Hugh Scott and other publishing professionals on different styles and aspects of writing, from police procedures, to romance, from articles to self-publishing.

We hope everyone who came enjoyed this first Lomond Writers' Gathering.

Don't forget : Writers write! Readers come hear it live.

We were delighted to dedicate the very first Lomond Writers’ Gathering to Agnes Owens, the nationally acclaimed local writer and thank those who came to the award ceremony where some of Britain's top writers: James Kelman, Alasdair Gray and Liz Lochhead, came to honour Agnes and help her present the prizes to the winners of the 2Impress winter writing competition.

New competition details can be found on www.2Impress.org right now.

Writers write!
Lomond Writers’ Gathering  and 2Impress are dedicated to supporting new writers and getting them into print

We think nothing beats the thrill of satisfaction of seeing your work published. But - rejection piles are bigger, faster, more immediate; publishing opportunities are fewer, and diminishing daily.

We also know that writing can be a lonely job, so we want to offer support and encouragement. Watch out for the Writers' Gathering online - coming soon.

This event was part-funded by the Scottish Government and the European Community Forth Valley and LEADER programme 2007-13
